on the old site iirc you couldve bought premium vouchers, but i cant find it on the new premium page
I couldn’t find it on the old site either lol. I thought they existed but never found where they were.
This isn’t a bug, top-ups have been removed to simplify our billing system.
what if someone wanted to buy premium for someone as a gift

Gift purchasing hasn’t been available for ~4mo because, after being available for >6mo, it was used by ~5 people. All but one were purchasing vouchers for themselves.
The top-up system was setup for a few people in EU countries who had issues with subscriptions due to Stripe’s anti-fraud system being more aggressive towards subscriptions than one-time payments.
Now that we’re using payment infrastructure designed for international transactions and we have support for PayPal (which almost always works even in cases where Stripe had/has issues), this isn’t necessary.
We’ve also changed subscription cancellation logic to cancel at the end of the billing period rather than prorate an account credit, so you can subscribe for a month and cancel for the same effect as a ‘top-up’ or self-gift.
Gifts are also a vector for abuse and phishing, so removing the functionality when it wasn’t used much anyway helps prevent those types of attacks.
